Student Bonanza – Showcase

At BMA, every show we host holds a special place in our hearts, but there’s an undeniable magic surrounding our student bonanza. It’s a celebration exclusively for our students, a platform where they can proudly display their hard-earned skills and where our instructors often find themselves moved to tears by the sheer pride they feel witnessing their students’ performances. Seriously, there’s nothing quite like seeing our students shine on stage—it’s a truly beautiful experience.

The concept of the student bonanza arose from a desire to provide a nurturing environment for our students to showcase their talents, especially those stepping onto the stage for the very first time. Unlike larger productions that feature professional performers, our bonanza offers a supportive space tailored specifically for our students, typically scheduled for the late spring or early summer months and open to BMA students of all ages.

We understand that performing in front of an audience can be daunting, even for the most seasoned performers, which is why we go the extra mile to ease any anxieties. Leading up to the bonanza, we host act creation workshops with one of our experienced BMA coaches. These workshops are designed to equip students with valuable insights, offering tips and tricks to craft captivating performances that truly resonate with the audience. From refining your stage presence to fine-tuning your performance technique, our workshops provide a way to prepare both the mind and body for the show.

If you’re a BMA student, encourage you to apply for our student bonanza. We understand that stepping onto the stage can be intimidating, but we firmly believe that the world deserves to witness the incredible talent and strength that resides within each and every one of our students. So, take that leap of faith—we’re here to support you every step of the way. Let’s showcase your brilliance together!

Shadows Aerial Showcase & Performances

At BMA, we deeply recognize and cherish the significance of channeling life’s profound and darker emotions through artistic expression. That’s why we conceived our winter showcase, Shadows. This show serves as a way of expressing things often left unspoken like fear, pain, anger, sadness, depression, mental health struggles, and experiences of abuse. It’s a sanctuary for healing, a platform where art and creativity come together to navigate through emotions, including those hard to talk about in other settings.

We consider ourselves incredibly privileged to provide a nurturing space for a show of this nature, one that empowers individuals to bare their hearts and souls, backed by the unwavering support of a compassionate community. Shadows isn’t just an exhibition; it’s a sacred time where we invite our shadow selves to emerge and be acknowledged. The depth of this showcase may not resonate with everyone, and that’s perfectly alright. Given its content, Shadows is designated as an 18+ event, so we encourage all students and professionals above 18 to apply.

It would be our utmost honor to play even a small role in your journey toward healing. Allow us to stand alongside you in vulnerability, as we unveil our own shadow side, fostering connection and understanding through the shared language of art.

Critters & Tea

Prepare to embark on a whimsical journey unlike any other with Bloom Movement Artistry’s delightful spectacle, Critters and Tea – a show known for its whimsy and silliness! While at BMA, we hold dear our ability to convey profound emotions through our artistic endeavors, there are moments when we all need a break from the weight of the world and simply enjoy laughter and joy. Enter Critters and Tea, our springtime family friendly extravaganza designed to fill the season with life and smiles.

Picture this: a stage alive with the antics of mischievous critters, whimsical animal routines that tickle the funny bone, and even a necromancer dancing to ‘Genie in a Bottle’ (true story)! Critters and Tea stands as a beacon of light during times of darkness. But Critters and Tea isn’t just about entertainment; it’s a celebration of community and friendship. Open to both students and professionals, the audition process welcomes all who wish to perform. In fact, the more whimsy and silliness infused into your piece, the better!

Prepare to be enchanted as you witness breathtaking aerial displays, captivating dance routines, and tons of other enchanting performances. Critters and Tea is more than just a show; it’s a portal to a world where laughter reigns supreme and silliness knows no bounds. At Critters and Tea, the only thing more abundant than laughter is the warmth of our community.

Ice & Embers

Get ready to unleash your inner headbanger because Ice and Embers is here to ignite your passion for all things metal! This electrifying show pays homage to the legendary “We Will Raq You”, a metal belly dance spectacle that Satarah performed in for many years. Held in the early days of the new year, Ice and Embers breaks the winter silence with the thunderous roar of the loudest, heaviest music imaginable. At this show we summon the spirit of spring with performances that shake the ground and soar through the air.

Ice and Embers provides a platform for our performers to craft routines set to the pounding beats of metal music—a genre that may not always be suitable for other performances. It’s an opportunity for us to explore a different facet of our creativity, to embrace the raw energy of metal, and to proudly showcase our unique identity and artistic vision. Like all our shows, Ice and Embers welcomes both students and seasoned professionals, but please note that it’s strictly for those aged 18 and above, as it features adult themes and music.

Join us as we crank up the volume, raise the horns, and herald the arrival of a new season with a bang!

Instructor Showcase

As coaches, carving out time for our personal training and performances that truly resonate with us can often feel like an impossible task while coaching and creating routines meant for clients. Recognizing this challenge, we conceived the idea of our instructor showcase. This showcase is held in the early fall and the themes change with each year.

The instructor showcase serves as a platform for all of our BMA coaches to dive into their artistic depths and present pieces that speak to their souls. It’s a rare opportunity for instructors to step into the spotlight within their own community, a night we hold dear to our hearts.

True to its name, the show is only open to those who teach classes at BMA. However, we welcome the entire community to attend and cheer on our coaches. For students, it’s a chance to witness their coaches in a different light, shedding the role of instructor momentarily to reveal the performer within. This show also serves as a night of inspiration, inspiring students for their own performances.

We are so grateful to be in the position to create a show for our coaches to shine, and we hope you will join us in celebrating them.
