Welcome to Bloom Movement Artistry – Your Destination for Aerial Excellence

New Students:

If you don’t find your answer below, make sure to check out our Blog page on the website! There is a lot of information there, such as Why Choose Aerial for My Exercise, What is the Best Aerial Apparatus for Me?, Every(body) Is Different, & The Aerial Long Game. You can also reach out to us at hello@bloommovementartistry.com

How do I get there?

We are located off of Old Pineville Rd, between Archdale and Tyvola. Our address is 6150 Old Pineville Rd, Suite B, Charlotte, NC 28217. Our building is tan and there is no sign on the road but there is a maroon sign above our suite that says “BLOOM”. Turn left into the driveway before the black fence (if coming from Archdale) or turn right into the driveway after the black fence (if coming from Tyvola).

Do you have parking?

Yes, indeed! We have plenty of on-site parking available. You can either park in the gravel lot in front of the building outside the gate or opt for the back row once you’re through the gate.

What apparatus should I start with?

This is a great question and one that honestly has different answers depending on who you ask. We have a blog all about it! Check it out and let us know if you have any questions by emailing us at hello@bloommovementartistry.com.

What if I’m afraid of heights?

Psst…here’s a secret. Most of us are :). Truly, so many of our instructors and students are afraid of heights. The great thing is that it’s something you can work through safely, with instruction and help at BMA. Honestly, it’s a healthy fear, but it feels AMAZING to overcome it in a safe environment.

Do you have water available?

Yes, we do! We have a water machine in our lobby that provides some of the best water we’ve ever tasted. Reusable cups are available, or you can fill up your own water bottle. Additionally, we offer hot tea.

What if I can’t do a push-up, splits, a pull-up, etc.?

We’ll assist in training you to achieve those skills, but it’s not mandatory to start aerial classes with them. You can safely perform all activities, and joining aerial classes will gradually build the strength needed for those maneuvers.

In our classes, we incorporate flexibility training and stretching regularly. While we can help you work towards achieving splits, it’s not a requirement. We showcase various elegant ‘stag’ moves that are equally beautiful alternatives.

What if I’m not bendy?

That’s fine, you’ll become more bendy over time and you don’t ever have to be the most flexible person in the room.

What if I’m not very active currently?

That’s why you found us! We are here to help aid in your creative and fitness journey. Join us to start (or restart) your journey!

What is your cancellation policy?

For regular weekly classes, we have a 12 hour cancellation window, meaning that if you cancel more than 12 hours before, there is no fee. If you cancel within the 12 hour window, you will be charged a class from your pass or a $15 fee. If you have an emergency, please reach out to us at hello@bloommovementartistry.com with as much notice as possible. We will offer a one time exception for emergencies.

For workshops and series, the cancellation period is usually 72 hours.

What should I wear?

We’d recommend a fitted T or leotard with leggings or tights. Clothes that are fitted are more optimal so you don’t get tangled in the apparatus. Being covered is important especially on Lyra and Trapeze because your skin can get caught. When you wear fitted cotton clothing it helps prevent this.

Are classes all ages?

16+, but do keep in mind that our adult classes are just that. There may be gentle profanity used,

Saturday, ages, 7 – 15

Is there a weight limit?

Nope! All of our equipment is designed to support over 2,000 lbs. We encourage people of all body types to join our classes. Our instructors are committed to collaborating with our students, offering variations on movements. While some poses or transitions might not be attainable for certain individuals due to injuries, flexibility, etc., we’ll provide you with all the tools possible to help you reach your goals.

Do I have to go every week?

You don’t have to, but we recommend attending once or twice a week because most of our class structures follow a 4-week series. While you can join at any time, attending a couple of times a week proves more beneficial. It helps in easily building upon skills and acquiring strength at a quicker pace.

How are things sanitized?

We completely unrig and wash our cloth apparatus regularly (each month). Students clean their mats after each use. We have hand sanitizer available throughout the studio for use.

I am LGBTQIA. Will I be welcome in your studio?

Most definitely! Many of our staff and client base are also queer, and our client base and staff are queer-friendly.
