Figuring Out the Balance: An Intro to Tippy Lyra

Discover the exciting world of Tippy Lyra, a unique aerial apparatus that challenges balance, coordination, and creativity. In this workshop, Francesca will guide students through foundational balance skills, dynamic movement, and spinning while helping you connect your existing aerial knowledge to a new style of apparatus.
Whether you’re new to Tippy Lyra or returning for another session, you’ll explore fresh concepts, new pathways, and creative movement opportunities designed to help you embrace the apparatus’s dynamic nature.
Prerequisites:
Minimum 1 year of aerial experience (6+ months of Lyra experience recommended).
Students should be comfortable with:
- Front balance
- Knee hangs
- Back balance (hands permitted)
- Pullovers
- Standing on the bar
- Inversions (bent arms are fine)
Slow spin experience is helpful but not required.
What to Wear:
Leggings or tights that fully cover the legs are recommended. Socks are encouraged. ✨🎪

Ready to take your Tippy Lyra practice to the next level? This workshop is designed for students who already have experience with the apparatus and are looking to expand their skills, technique, and movement vocabulary.
Together, we’ll dive deeper into the core categories of Tippy Lyra, explore more advanced skills and sequencing, and discover new ways to utilize the apparatus to its fullest potential. Expect creative challenges, dynamic movement, and opportunities to build confidence while refining your understanding of this unique aerial apparatus.
Prerequisites:
- Completion of at least 2 Tippy Lyra workshops or a Tippy Lyra series
- Minimum 2 years of aerial experience and 1 year of Lyra training
- Comfortable with tippy pullovers (both versions), cartwheels, forward rolls, standing, sequencing, and hanging from spansets

Intro to Tight Wire

This workshop is perfect for anyone curious about circus arts, looking to challenge their coordination, or wanting to try something completely new.
Prerequisites:
None. This workshop is open to all experience levels.
